Easter beer hunt

On easter, Tara decided to put on a beer hunt in a neighbourhood park. She got some friends together, and they painted beers in bright colours, went to work hiding them, and then called in the troops. The weather turned out to be schizophrenic. This was the initial phase of cloudiness, when Tara was looking very gangster. Posted by Picasa
Fabulous prizes had been arranged for the people that found the most beers. Luckily for the lazy, the rules stipulated that the bounty should be evenly distributed when the hunt was over. Posted by Picasa
After all the beers were found, we got sunshine and it was time to play charades. I was not too keen on the actual performing part, but could not keep my mouth shut when I knew the answer so I ended up doing an easy one. On the first row to the right is Tara's friend Ashley who was visiting from Utah. Posted by Picasa
The final stage of the day was hailing. Easily swayed people got all excited and ran out in the street. Posted by Picasa

DC vacation

That's right. We had some. And we saw the library of congress. And it was warm like nobody's business. Yay for vacation. Posted by Picasa
Amelia took a bunch of pictures with her new camera, which we are eagerly looking forward to seeing. Posted by Picasa

We're back!

Last sunday, we got our first track workout. Here is the band of merry pranksters that braved the slick track to get back in the groove. Charbie felt so strong she decided to ride in a carhartt jacket to increase the wind resistance to the point where the rest of the group could keep up. Forbes felt the same way, and kept a water bottle holder on his bike to slow himself down some, and to be able to offer refreshements in the pace line. We did flying 3s, 2s and and bunch of other delightful drills. I threw up a little bit. All in all a good first workout. Posted by Picasa
Amelia is looking coy, waiting for her efforts to begin. Note that bike central special bike, all black and menacing. They don't call us the black wall of death for nothing. Posted by Picasa
We have also started motorpacing. Here I am in the rain, trying to come around Max on the motorcycle going 32 mph. If I learned one thing this day, it was that motorpacing in the rain is not fun. If you look carefully at my face you will see how it felt. Posted by Picasa
