Cherry pie road race

Here I am, looking all mysterious. Why? Well, this weekend I and Amelia went to Harrisburg Oregon for the years first road event. We are track people, of course, but some armtwisting from the coach had necessitated this bold move. I raced the fixed gear category, which involved climbing hills in a monster gear bigger than what I normally ride on the track, and Amelia raced the cat 4 ladies. We both did great: Amelia hung in there with the ladies and used her newly acquired grass track skills to effortlessly glide around in the peloton, and I outsprinted cat 1 roadies to nab a second place. Good times. Note Stanley the new green thermos in the back of the truck. Posted by Picasa
We promptly donated the magnificent prize for a podium place in the fixed gear race to Coach Brian as a thanks for his smart tactical advice. What it was? Well, the race was called the Cherry Pie road race after all, so I am sure you can guess. Posted by Picasa
Amelia also took the time to get to know some of the locals. They were kind, but somewhat monochromatic and boring. Posted by Picasa
